GL Dr McKenna Cup Round-Up

queens-cavan-03012008.jpgIn section A of the Gaelic Life Dr McKenna Cup Fermanagh and Derry played out a 0-10 to 1-7 draw at Brewster Park.

Joe Diver grabbed the Derry goal, while Pat Cadden and Enda Ferris helped themselves to three points each for the the Erne County.

Brian Roper, Stephen Griffen and Ross Wherrity all scored goalss for Donegal in their 3-16 to 0-13 win over UUJ at Pairc MacCumhaill.

In section B Down ran out easy winners over St Mary’s, Ross Carr’s charges running out 3-16 to 0-10 winners at Pairc Esler.

Cathal Magee scored two goals for the winners, including one from a penalty, with John Fagan grabbing another towards the end of the second half.

Finally, in section C of the Ulster competition Liam Bradley’s managerial reign in Antrim began with defeat as Armagh proved too strong for the Tommy Murphy Cup champions at the Athletic Grounds.

The Orchard County had two points to spare, winning 0-12 to 0-10, while Antrim had two players, Conor McGoldrick and Aiden Gallagher, who had to be replaced after picking up yellow cards.
