Watch MacRory Cup Video

February 10th, 2010

niall-morgan-macrory-cupGoals galore were captured on camera in a weekend of thrilling action in the quarter-finals of the BT MacRory Cup.

A full dozen of goals were scored in the four games and you can watch them all here.

Half of the total came in the first match on Friday night in Newry where favourites St Colman’s and St Patrick’s Armagh shared six goals. The Violet Hill boys had too much over the hour and claimed victory.

Two more quarter-finals were played back-to-back at the Athletic Grounds on Saturday, with St Mary’s Magherafelt edging out St Macartan’s after a dour struggle in the first game.

The second part of the double header saw holders St Patrick’s Academy Dungannon march on to the Semi-finals after a high-scoring 3-11 to 1-12 defeat of Abbey CBS.

Finally on Sunday Omagh CBS overcame St Patrick’s Maghera to ensure two Tyrone schools in the last four. They were then kept apart in the draw, making a second consecutive Omagh-Dunannon Final a possibility, but Magherafelt and St Colman’s will have plenty to say about that in a few weeks time.
