Kernan names side for Inter-Pro Final

joe-kernan-seamus-mcenaneyUlster manager Joe Kernan has named his team for Sunday’s M. Donnelly Interprovincial Football Championship final clash against Leinster at Croke Park.

The former Armagh boss has once again named a very strong selection, with two changes from the 1-14 to 1-13 semi-final win over Munster. Kernan has brought in two men from his own club, All-Ireland club champions Crossmaglen, after their involvement in this year’s All-Ireland Club Championship came to an end at the weekend at the hands of St. Brigid’s.

In comes Joe Kernan’s son Aaron at right-half-back, in place of Tyrone’s Cathal McCarron, while up front, Jamie Clarke starts at right-corner-forward, with Down’s Mark Poland making way and Tyrone’s Martin Penrose moving from the corner out to the forty.

Seven of the nine Ulster counties are represented on the starting team, while all nine counties from the province have players in the panel for the final.

All proceeds raised from the game will go directly to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. The AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Club Championship final involving Kenmare Shamrocks (Kerry) and Ballinasloe (Galway) will act as the curtain raiser at 2pm at Croke Park, while the Interprovincial football final will throw-in at 3.45pm.

Tickets for this Croke Park double header are priced at €10 for Adults, €5 for Juveniles with all proceeds going to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin. Tickets can be purchased through gaa.ie/tickets or other usual outlets.
