Ulster Scór na nÓg finalists decided

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Scór. Scór is a celebration of all that is good in Irish culture, music, dance, singing and story-telling.

Over the last number of months Scór na nÓg heats and county finals have been taking place across the province. Over the last two weekend’s Ulster semi-finals have taken place in Silverbridge, Co. Armagh and Stradone Community Centre, Co. Cavan.

The first Scór na nÓg Ulster semi-final took place last Saturday when 131 young people representing the counties of Armagh. Down, Donegal and Monaghan took to the stage in Silverbridge on Saturday. The standard of entertainment at this excellent venue was superb.

The winners  listed below now go forward to the Provincial final which will take place in Silverbridge on Saturday 12th January 2019.

Rince Foirne/Ceili Dancing: Mayobridge GAA Club (An Dún) and Killeavy GAA Club (Ard Mhacha)
Amhránaíocht Aonair/Solo Singing: Aoife Treanor – Clonduff GAA Club (An Dún) and Cailiosa Ní Dhúill – St Killian’s GAC Whitecross (Ard Mhacha)
Aithriseoireacht/Scéalaíocht/Recitation/Storytelling: Eoin Mac Cleire – CLG Cláirsigh (Muineachán) and Eilis Mc Creesh – St Patrick’s GAA Club, Cullyhanna (Ard Mhacha)
Bailéad Ghrúpa/Ballad Group: Carrickcruppen St Patricks’s (Ard Mhacha) and Glassdrummond GAA Club (An Dún)
Léiriú Stáitse/Stage Presentation: CLG Gleann tSúilí (Dún na nGall) and St Colmans GAA Club, Drumaness (An Dún)
Ceol Uirlise/Instrumental Music: CLG Bun a’ Phobail (Dún na nGall) and Madden Raparees (Ard Mhacha)
Rince Seit (Set Dancing): Drumhowan GAA Club (Muineachán) and Clonduff GAA Club (An Dún)

At the weekend the second set of semi-finals took place with the county representatives from Armagh, Cavan, Derry, Fermanagh and Tyrone all taking to the stage in Stradone Community Centre, Co Cavan. The winners advancing to the Ulster final are as follows:

Amhránaíocht Aonair/Solo Singing: Méabh Coyle – Michael Davitt’s GAC, Swatragh (Doire) and Cian Murray – Loch Gowna (An Cabhán)
Aithriseoireacht/Scéalaíocht/Recitation/Storytelling: Clíodhna Toner – Loughmacrory St Teresa’s, (Tír Eoghain) and Mary Kate Bonnes (Tír na nÓg Randalstown (Aontroim)
Bailéad Ghrúpa/Ballad Group: Watty Graham’s, Glen (Doire) and Drumragh Sarsfields  (Tír Eoghain)
Léiriú Stáitse/Stage Presentation: Aghagallon St Mary’s (Aontroim) and  Drumlane GAA Club (An Cabhán)
Ceol Uirlise/Instrumental Music: Fintona Pearses (Tír Eoghain) and Derrygonnelly Harps (Fear Manach)
Rince Seit (Set Dancing): Killyclogher St Mary’s (Tír Eoghain) and John Mitchel’s Glenullin, (Doire)
