Action from the Intermediate Singles final between Monaghan’s Gavin Coyle and Ryan Mullan from Tyrone

A bumper weekend of provincial handball action saw the Ulster Juvenile finals and Ulster Adult 40×20 singles finals played off in Kingscourt, Co Cavan.

Pride of place in the adult singles went to Monaghan’s Gavin Coyle, who defeated Tyrone right-hander Ryan Mullan (21-15, 21-12) to win the Intermediate Singles title.

Bawn clubman Coyle now advances to the All-Ireland series where he will be gunning for a fifth national title in succession, having previously won the U17, U21, Junior B and Junior A titles.

The Junior A Singles title went to Antrim, with the powerful Jordan O’Neill (St Gall’s) seeing off Saval, Co Down clubman Sean Digney in a hard-fought final.

Antrim also took the Junior B crown, with Ciaran Crothers – son of former Antrim senior star Paddy – taking the title at the expense of Corduff, Co Monaghan dual player Ciaran Brennan.

At juvenile level, Monaghan Harps player Tiernan O’Rourke was an impressive winner of the blue riband U16 Singles, with Tyrone’s Gary McAleer (Loughmacrory) taking the U14 Singles title for the second year in succession.

The U16 Doubles also went to Tyrone, with Jack Darcy and Conor Fox coming out on top, with Cavan’s Oliver McCrystal and Adam McKenna claiming the U14 Doubles.
