Last night, Ulster GAA paid tribute to our match officials at the annual Referees dinner at Quinns Corner Ballygawley.
We thank all our referees for their time, commitment and involvement in the delivery of our games programme. Without referees, there are simply no games. All of our referees make themselves available and some at very short notice.
Ulster GAA President Martin McAviney had the pleasure of presenting the last few awards to culminate the playing season in Ulster for 2013. At club level, the club championship in all three grades in both codes is keenly contested. The football finals took place last weekend, with the following men taking charge:
Club Junior Football Championship Final – Shaun McLaughlin (Dún na nGall).
Shaun also took charge of the Warwickshire Senior Football Final and he was presented with a certificate to recognise this feat.
Club Intermediate Football Championship Final – Noel Mooney (An Cabhán)
Club Senior Football Championship Final – Padraig Hughes (Ard Mhacha)
Martin McAviney and Ulster GAA PRO John Connolly both paid tribute to the Referees Committee and Referees Advisors. Their attendance and input at meetings and games is essential and we are indebted to this group.
All referees on the Ulster panel were presented with a kit bag and Martin McAviney is pictured presenting a kit bag to Maggie Farrelly (Cavan).
