Ulster excel in first Inter-Provincial Wheelchair Hurling Blitz

Ulster GAA’s Wheelchair Hurling team began their first competitive blitz of the season by hosting the All-Ireland Provincial League Blitz (Round 1) in Colaiste Oiriall, Monaghan on Saturday 27th June.

This was Ulster’s best performance to date and this young team have evolved into a prominent force in this new sport.

Ulster began the event with a 2-2 draw against current league champions Munster then defeating Connacht 4-3 before then beating Leinster 3-1 in their last game.

The Ulster team have representatives from Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh,& Tyrone and will attend the Players Academy camp in Jordanstown next week before continuing training in their regions in preparation for the next blitz in Carlow at the end of the summer.

Ulster Squad: Ruairí Mc Dermott, Colm Brady, Conor Browne, David Doherty, Conn Nagle (2 goals), Brandon Kelly, Conor Larkin, Peter Lewis (4 goals), Geraldine Mc Garrigle, Conor McGrotty (1 goal) Ruairi Haffey, Paul McKillop (2 goals), Ryan O’Connor, Damhan Hughes.
