GAA Graduates 2008
The Ulster GAA were well represented in the recent graduation ceremony at the Waterfront hall, Belfast of the inaugural graduates of the 3 year part-time Sports Science & Coaching degree course from the Ulster University, Jordanstown, A total 13 people graduated after the 3 year course and Ulster GAA had 8 members celebrating the academic award.
This course is the first sports coaching degree programme in the whole of Ireland and has been designed in close consultation with all the key providing agencies for sport, including a number of sport’s governing bodies.
The course comprises a total of 11 modules, 3 of which are work-based learning modules. The remaining eight modules cover a wide range of coaching disciplines including sports science, sports sociology, skill acquisition, sports psychology and coach development.
Included in the picture are course directors Shane mc cullough & Tandy Jane haughey with Ulster GAA representatives Laim Mc Goldrick, Antrim, Paul Callaghan Donegal, Tom Potter Down & Paul Turley Armagh others who graduated were Eamon O’Hara Monaghan, Declan Morgan Down, Emma Kelly Derry & Paul Murphy Antrim.
