2009 Presidents Awards
GAA President Nickey Brennan yesterday honoured 18 members of the association after the shortlist for the 2009 President’s Awards was confirmed.
This is the sixth year that the awards have been presented to members of the association who have made outstanding contributions to the GAA in their respective areas.
At an event in Croke Park, which followed the AIB All-Ireland Club Championship finals, the GAA President hosted the award winners in the company of family and friends and lauded their work on behalf of the GAA over a prolonged period.
There were 5 Ulster recipients this year with Declan O’Neill (Tyrone), Peter Sherry (Monaghan), Teresa Kelly (Tyrone – Ladies Football), Gilbert McIlhatton (Antrim) and Eugene Gallagher (Donegal) all picking up awards for their services.
