USHC & Camogie C’ships Launched

May 5th, 2009

ushc-launch-2009.jpgThe 2009 Ulster Senior Hurling and Camogie Championships were officially launched today at the Ramada Hotel Belfast.

In attendance were Ulster GAA President Tom Daly, Ulster GAA Provincial Director Danny Murphy, Ulster GAA PRO Michael Hasson, Ulster Camogie Chairperson Catherine O’Hara, representatives from the 3 multi-sponsors; Guinness, Etihad Airways and RTÉ, as well as a number of inter-County players and managers.

The event was a joint launch with Ulster Camogie who launched their Junior and Senior Camogie Championships.

As part of the ongoing Integration process, Tom Daly outlined that where possible Ulster GAA would seek to include Camogie fixtures as curtain raisers to Ulster Senior Hurling Championship games.  Indeed, this weekend, the Ulster Junior Camogie Championship Semi-Final between Donegal and Monaghan will be played as the curtain raiser to the Donegal v Tyrone USHC on Saturday 9th May.
