Armagh Minors too good for Tyrone
Ulster MFC Quarter-Final:
Tyrone 1-09 Armagh 2-08
Two penalties from Robbie Tasker helped Armagh to a 2-8 to 1-9 win over Tyrone in Sunday’s Ulster MFC tie at Clones.
Tasker scored his first penalty in the 11th minute after Conor King had been fouled by Thomas Canavan and Armagh led 1-3 to 0-4 at the interval.
Shay McGuigan landed a dipping shot past Niall Morgan for Tyrone’s goal but Tasker again found the net after King was brought down by Shea McGarrity.
There was no way back for Raymond Munroe’s side as Armagh sealed victory.
Eugene McVerry scored the first point of the game for Armagh from a free but the Red Hands replied with two points from open play.
Tasker’s penalty nudged Armagh ahead and Gavin McParland added two points before John McCullagh replied.
McParland was on target again after the break and McGuigan’s goal helped Tyrone take the lead.
Armagh fought back and Tasker’s second penalty proved crucial.
