London and Down through to Semi
Ulster Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final:
London 2-12 Derry 0-15
London caused a major shock when they beat Derry by 2-12 to 0-15 to qualify for the semi-final of the Ulster GAA Hurling Senior Championship after a thrilling encounter in Casement Park.
The Exiles staged a quite remarkable comeback to upset the odds, as Mark Mythen twice hit the back of the net in a game-changing three-minute spell in the final quarter.
Mythen had help from the ever-reliable Martin Finn, the Cork native chipping in with six points to ensure a three-point win.
The Oak Leafers had led by 0-7 to 0-6 at the break and looked to be in cruise control and heading for the last four when they moved six points clear – 0-13 to 0-7 – thanks, in the main, to Ruairi Convery’s accuracy from placed balls.
However, Mythen changed the course of the game when he raised green flags on 58 and 61 minutes to put London ahead.
Mark Craig did level the game for Derry a minute later, but the visitors finished with three unanswered points, from Mythen, Paul Stephenson and Richard O’Connell, to ensure a famous three-point win.

Ulster Senior Hurling Championship Quarter-Final:
Down 4-28 Armagh 0-9
Meanwhile, Down eased to victory with a 4-28 to 0-9 win over Armagh in the afternoon’s second game at Casement Park.
Johnny McCusker and Aidan Clarke scored a brace of goals each while Paul Braniff hit 0-9 for the Mourne men.
McCusker hit the back of the net after 20 minutes as Down led by 1-13 to 0-6 at the break.
Armagh’s hopes of staging a comeback were all but ended when corner back Donal Carvill saw red for an off-the-ball incident involving McCusker.
Clarke hit two goals after coming on as a second half sub and McCusker added his second to seal a comprehensive win for Down.
