Ulster Hurling Road Show

On Saturday 26th March, in St John’s High School, Dromore Co Tyrone, Ulster GAA will be holding their second Ulster Hurling Road Show.

This is a jam packed Day with 3 Workshops on developing Hurling/Camogie Players and Coaches.

Special Guests on the day giving their views are National Hurling Director Paudie Butler (pictured), former Antrim player and manager Dominic McKinley, and Cork Hurler Ainle Ó Cairealláin.

The programme for the day is as follows:

Session 1: Tackling the tackle
Dominic McKinley, Ex Antrim Hurler & Hurling Development Officer, Antrim, will look at ways to improve the way players approach tackling in hurling and how to develop this for the modern game.

Session 2: Striking – a different way!
Ainle O’Cairealláin, Na Piarsaigh GAC Senior Hurler and Gym Manager,  will look at the different types of stroke that can be used in a game especially when under pressure and how having these different methods of striking in a players “arsenal” can ensure a player is effective in all situations.

Effective Catching
Paudie Butler, National Hurling Director, will look at ways to ensure coaches can be effective in ensuring players are able to develop this important skill in Hurling.
