Success at All Ireland Scór Sinsir
Ulster won three All Ireland titles in Killarney at the weekend in Scór Sinsir.
Well done to Niamh Devine from Carrickcruppen, Ard Mhacha who won the recitation, the ballad group from Coill an Chlochair and the instrumental music group from an Droim Mór, Tír Eoghain (pictured).
All of the eight Ulster acts performed tremendously well and there couldn’t have been much in it in the other five competitions. The Bredagh quiz team from an Dún were very unlucky in losing out by a single mark after two rounds of tie breaker questions.
In all, Ulster won three competitions, Connacht won two, Munster won two and Leinster won one. This is our best outing since 2008 when Ulster won five of the eight competitions so it’s great to see that Ulster still ranks amongst the best and this is testament to the work that the nine counties are putting in to Scór. Coinnigh suas an obair mhaith.
We also had a full complement of experienced adjudicators present at the All Ireland finals and Coiste Scór Uladh would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to them all.
We mustn’t forget the Ulster supporters who travelled in great numbers and made their presence felt. This is a great help to the competitors and míle buíochas to everyone who made the long journey by bus, train and car.
The performances from all the Ulster Scór Sinsir winners can be viewed on the Ulster GAA YouTube Channel.
