Brady & Reilly collect World Titles
Ulster GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail has congratulated Ulster Handballers Paul Brady, from Cavan and Aisling Reilly, from Antrim on being crowned World Handball Champions last night in the Citywest, Dublin.
Speaking after watching Paul Brady’s heroic game, Ulster GAA President Aogán Ó Fearghail said, “I am a very proud Ulster man and a very proud Cavan man after watching Paul Brady play his heart and soul out to win his fourth World Title. The atmosphere in the Citywest Arena in Dublin was really something else, with over 5000 spectators, a handball game has never had so much excitement and passion.
“I am so proud of Paul Brady and he will be the pride and joy of Cavan, Ulster and indeed Ireland.”
“I also warmly congratulate Aisling Reilly who won the women’s World Title after defeating her fellow County player Fiona Shannon. It says a lot for handball in Ulster that the women’s decider was between two Antrim women.”
Their recent achievements have boosted handball in Ulster and will leave a lasting legacy in the Province. We congratulate all those from Ulster who competed at the World Handball Championship and we particularly congratulate those who came home with World Championship titles, including:
“We look forward to welcoming Paul and Aisling with the World Titles back to Ulster.”
