Ulster Girls U12 Blitz

Over 200 girls took part in the third Ulster Under 12 Club Development Blitz of 2012 on Saturday 15th September . The Mid Ulster Sports Arena in Cookstown was the venue for the event with teams from Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down and Tyrone in attendance from 13 different clubs, there was a great array of colour on display as the girls proudly wore their club colours.

Many of the teams present had already taken part in the Spring Blitzes and the improvements made in their skill levels since then was very noticeable, so credit must go to all the coaches involved with the teams taking part.

Fionntán O’Dowd, organiser of the event said at the blitz “Today is one of those great days in football. We have over 200 girls here who are thoroughly enjoying our game, and the fact that there is no cup to play for is only adding to it. It is all about the development of our girls at this level so football is the real winner here today!”

The final blitz of the year will take place on Saturday 27th October in Monaghan Training Grounds, Annyalla. Anyone interested in taking part can contact fionntan.odowd.ulster@gaa.ie for further details.
