Ulster Ladies Re-Instate Derry Man As President
The 22nd Ulster Ladies Gaelic Convention was held in Kellys Inn recently. The low key affair was opened by Hugh Devenney who was chairing his last meeting before stepping down as the most senior officer in the province. In the election of officers there were no major surprises with most officers retaining their positions from 2012.
Since Donegal man Hugh Devenney had completed his three year term in office he vacated his seat making way for Derry man Joe Lagan. Joe is no stranger to the presidents role in Ulster having already served a term from 2004-2006. The Glen Maghera man has also served his time in the national role of Development Officer in the past, and has been involved in referee development within the association for many years. A retired school principal, Joe will use his skills to drive Ulster Ladies Gaelic for the next three years.
