UUJ retained their Ashbourne Shield with a fine three point win over UCC. Centre back Sabrina Larkin was in excellent form for UUJ along with captain Aileen Martin and Maire Mulholland. UCC were best served by the hardworking Miriam Crowley and Patricia Buttimer. UUJ played with the breeze in the first half and withstood a strong UCC comeback to hold on for victory on a scoreline of 1-13 to 0-13.
On Saturday 16th QUB won the Purcell Shield over DIT with Sinead Cassidy excelling for the Belfast side. Queens were comfortable winners in Limerick beating DIT by 1-11 to 0-04.
