Tír na nÓg collect Best Dressed Club award at Féile

July 2nd, 2013

Tír na nÓg Portadown have returned from Féile 2013 after being awarded the best dressed club at the Féile out of 157 teams. The Féile team captain Eóin McKee was presented with the award by GAA President Liam O’Neill at St Ergnat’s Moneyglass on Saturday afternoon.

On the playing field, the Portadown boys were very unlucky not to progress to the Féile All Ireland Semi-final. Their group was so tough that they ended up in a three team play off. Tír na nÓg eliminated Newcastle West (Limerick) which left Moortown (Tyrone) and Tír na nÓg battling it out for a place in the semi-final. A draw would’ve been enough to see Tír na nÓg progress but with the last kick of the ball Moortown scored a point which saw them through to the semi-final.

A great weekend was had by all and the Tír na nOg boys have made friends for life, including many at their host club of St Ergnat’s Moneyglass who provided excellent hospitality.
