Disability Sport NI Workshop in St Mary’s UCB

On Tuesday 21st of January Ulster GAA and Disability Sport NI teamed up to deliver a disability awareness workshop to the trainee teachers in St. Mary’s University College Belfast.

The course was organised and facilitated by GAA development Officer Stephen Beattie and delivered by Disability specialist Patricia O Neill.

The workshop addressed issues of inclusion in a sporting setting and included various activities such as wheelchair basketball, boccia, games to include visually impaired but to name a few.

Student feedback highlights a great learning experience and a very fun enjoyable day, so much that Disability sport NI and St. Mary’s have secured two more dates to develop this area in more detail.
