Calling Enthusiastic GAA Volunteers for Training Programme

April 19th, 2016

Training for Club Planners and Club Maith Facilitators will take place on Tuesday 10th May in the Tyrone GAA Centre at Garvaghey from 7pm – 10pm.

Ulster Volunteeer Pathway

Club Planners

As a Club Planner you will assist a club going through their 12-week Club Planning Programme. The Club will set-up a Club Plan Steering Committee who are tasked with taking the project forward in the club, and will do all the work in pulling their Development Plan together. The Club Planner will offer support and guidance to the club for the 12-week duration. The main activity the Club Planner will be responsible for is facilitating the Planning Workshop.

All details and training required will be given on the 10th May, which will qualify attendees to act as a Club Planner. Club Planners will be held as a ‘bank’ of Club Planners within their county, and when a club from your county asks to get involved in the Club Planning Programme you will be asked if you would like to take-up the offer of acting as Club Planner for the Club.

Club Maith Facilitators

Club Maith Facilitators will be responsible for assessing a club’s Club Maith portfolio. You will be allocated several weeks to carry an assessment of the portfolio, prepare a snaglist for the Club, and complete an informal Club Visit. Ulster GAA will act as an intermediary between the Club and the Club Maith Facilitator, setting-up the Club Visit and other requirements. This process requires the person to be familiar with the Club Maith criteria, which will be covered at the training event on 10th May. Club Maith Facilitators will not assess clubs from within their County. When a portfolio is received by Ulster GAA, Club Maith Facilitators will be contacted by Ulster GAA to offer them the opportunity to work with the club.

These voluntary roles are positioned at Level 3 on the Ulster GAA Volunteer Development Pathway.

Full training for both programmes will be provided on Tuesday 10th May at the Tyrone GAA Centre.

If you are interested in participating please email  Maura.mcmenamin.ulster@gaa.ie by Friday May 6th to register your attendance.
