Tyrone to host Ulster Póc Fada 2016
For the first time since the event was introduced to mountain courses in 2006, Co. Tyrone will act as host to the Provincial Póc Fada Finals this summer.
The event will take place at ‘The Pigeon Top’ just outside Omagh, on Tuesday 21 June commencing at 7.30pm.
The local Drumrath club will provide their facilities as a base for the event for changing and post event snacks.
All counties throughout Ireland have been asked to organise a Póc Fada event on a mountain course with the county champion from each competition qualifying to participate in the Ulster Final.
Over the last couple of weeks a number of Póc Fada events have taken place and the Ulster Final line up is nearing completion with the local Tyrone event the last before next week’s ‘Póc Fada Uladh’.
Following injury last year, Derry’s Ruairi Convery will return to challenge for a sixth title having won previously in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 & 2014.
Another regular in the Ulster Finals is Karol Keating who will once again represent Down as he chases his first title.
