An educational field maintenance day will take place place at the Tyrone GAA Centre in Garvaghey on Saturday 22 October.

The event, organised by the National Field Committee, will consist of a range of presentations on sports field management and maintenance including a fertilising programme, re-turfing, machinery and re-seeding through to the importance of mowing pitches.

The role of the National Field Committee is to educate grounds people to take care of their pitches, thereby getting the optimum usage from their sports fields whether it is a Club or County ground.

The upcoming event at Garvaghey is an opportunity not to be missed by anyone who has a role to play in the maintaining of their pitches.

Registration on the day is from 9.30am. Those wishing to attend are urged to register their interest via email to ktmcoare@gmail.com before 22nd October to allow the organisers to facilitate the training day. An €80 fee applies to those attending for the first time and this will also entitle attendees to membership of the GCSAI.
