Cross & Passion make it derby Foresters’ final
Danske Bank Foresters’ Cup semi-final
Cross & Passion Ballycastle 1-21 St Patrick’s Maghera 0-7
A Ballycastle goal inside the first 30 seconds in Maghera yesterday set the tone for this second Danske Bank Foresters’ Cup semi-final with Cross and Passion comfortably making Friday afternoon’s final curtesy of a 17 points winning margin.
Ryan Mcfarland grabbed that early goal and points quickly followed for Ryan McMullan, Paul Boyle and Conor McBride, before Patrick Quinn got St Patrick’s off the mark with the first of his four first half frees.
Maghera enjoyed a decent spell during the middle of that first half with defenders Niall Mullan, Emmett Convery, John Mellon and Michael McCormick working hard to support the industrious Quinn at midfield.
But it was never going to last and Cross and Passion finished the half strongly with a flurry of points to lead 1-11 to 0-5 at the turnover.
Michael McGarry added three more points in the second half and there was a pair each from Paul Boyle and Ryan Hill as CPC eased through the gears with only two Patrick Quinn points in reply.
With St Louis Ballymena winning on Monday, the derby final is now scheduled for Friday afternoon (3pm) in Cloughmills.
Cross & Passion : Ryan McFarland 1-1, Ryan Hill 0-6, Paul Boyle 0-5, Michael McGarry 0-4, Ryan McMullan 0-2, Conor McBride 0-2, Colm Butler 0-1.
