Ulster GAA’s 2018 Elevate Clubs Honoured

March 22nd, 2018

Five GAA clubs have successfully achieved Ulster GAA’s Prestigious Elevate Award in 2018.

The five clubs from across Ulster gathered at a club-focused awards ceremony hosted by Ulster GAA’s Treasurer Ciaran McLaughlin at the Navan Centre in Armagh on Wednesday evening.

Speaking at the ceremony Ciaran McLaughlin said, “Ulster GAA is delighted that our prestigious Elevate Programme has been successfully rolled out for the third year now, with another 5 clubs achieving awards.

Ulster GAA’s Elevate Award aims to offer clubs a higher level of expertise across a range of areas from: Leadership and Management, Club Planning and Marketing, Financial Management and Fundraising and Capital Projects and Partnerships. We could not offer such a prestigious award without the important contribution of our expert tutors. All of which are from GAA backgrounds, who have experience and knowledge either in their professional or personal lives across all these issues. All our tutors are volunteers and we greatly appreciate their time, effort and experience in helping to deliver this programme, I would like to thank John O’Neill, Mark Conway, Rory O’Brien, Chris Curran, Anne Garvey, Marie Garvey, Declan McAleer, Fergal Mc Cormack, Gerard Bradley & Marion Donnelly

Our awards ceremony is an opportunity for Ulster GAA to honour the 5 clubs who participated in the 2018 Award, recognising their commitment to club development. It is also an opportunity for participating clubs to network with the other clubs so that they can call on each other for advice and guidance in future club planning projects.”

The five successful clubs who achieved Elevate Awards in 2018 were: Doire Colmcille, St Patricks Saul, Stewartstown Harps, Patrick Sarsfields, Belfast and St Eugenes Newtownstewart.

Thanks to Loughmacrory GAC, Watty Grahams Glen & Clan na Gael GAC Lurgan, their facilities and hospitality was well received by all attendees.
