St Killian’s seal spot in Gallagher semi-finals
Danske Bank Gallagher Cup quarter-final
St Killian’s Garron Tower 5-12 Our Lady’s and St Patrick’s Knock 1-5
INCREDIBLE as it may look from the final score-line, Our Lady’s and St Patrick’s Knock looked like causing a shock in the Danske Bank Gallagher Cup yesterday when they led a strong St Killian’s side by a point after 25 minutes of play.
Peter McAreavey, Eoin Pucci and Rory Corcoran were all putting in big shifts and the rest of the team was rallying around them and keeping the north Antrim boys under pressure.
Pucci scored the goal and Corcoran two glorious points from long range before the Antrim side moved up a gear five minutes from the break with Seanie McIntosh, Padraig McKillop and Colm McKeegan all hitting the net for an interval advantage of 3-6 to 1-4.
McKeegan was on target again in the second half and there was a fifth goal for Joshua Schnell as St Killian’s booked their spot in the semi-finals alongside St Patrick’s Maghera and St Mary’s Belfast.
St Killian’s : Colm McKeegan 2-3, Padraig McKillop 1-3, Seanie McIntosh 1-1, Joshua Schnell 1-0, Frankie McCormick 0-4, Niall McGarell 0-1.
OLSP Knock : Eoin Pucci 1-1, Rory Corcoran 0-2, James Harte 0-2.
