St Mary’s through to MacNamee final
Danske Bank MacNamee Cup semi-final
St Mary’s CBGS Belfast 5-7 Our Lady’s & St Patrick’s Knock 0-5
THE HARD work in this Danske Bank MacNamee Cup semi-final in Milltown was done by St Mary’s CBGS in the opening half and they led by 2-2 to 0-2 with goals from Fionn Jemfrey and Cormac Austin.
With the breeze on their backs during the second half there was only going to be one winner despite the efforts of Tiarnan Davies in the Knock goals and outfield players Shea Pucci, Ruairi McCamphill and James Blaney.
St Mary’s however had players to match those efforts and other to take it to another level and they added 3-5 in the second half with Enda McGurk outstanding in defence, a probing midfield pairing in James Wilson and Michael Darragh and skill from Darragh Cunningham and Fionn Jemfrey up front.
St Mary’s now have holders St Killian’s in the final tomorrow (THURSDAY) afternoon.
St Mary’s : Cormac Austin (1-3), Fionn Jemfrey (1-2), Niall Maye (1-1), James Wilson (1-1), Lorcan McCallion (1-0).
Knock : Thomas Rotherham (0-3), Ruairi McCamphill (0-1), Eoin Dorrian (0-1)
