St Eunan’s through to Corn Loch an Iúir final
Danske Bank Corn Loch an Iúir semi-final
St Eunan’s Letterkenny 3-8 St Joseph’s Donaghmore 4-4
JOHN Quinn was the last gasp saviour for St Eunan’s Letterkenny as they came from behind in Dungiven yesterday to claim a place in next week’s Danske Bank Corn Loch an Iúir final.
St Joseph’s Donaghmore probably didn’t do enough in the opening half when they played with the aid of the breeze and led by just 2-4 to 1-3 at the break.
They scored the opening two points, but fell away for the next 20 minutes and when they woke up St Eunan’s had scored 1-3 without reply, the goal from Mark Bonner.
However goals from Cormac McCartan and Ronan Molloy ensured that Donaghmore had a lead to defend for the second half.
Letterkenny scored 1-2 in the 10 minutes after the re-start, Lorcan Harvey the goal-scorer. However McCartan hit back with a goal for the Tyrone side before St Eunan’s came roaring back with 1-3 including a goal for Leon Blake-Boyce.
That left Letterkenny four up with four minutes to play. A goal from Con Sweeney left the minimum between the sides and the same player was put through in injury-time only for John Quinn to save the shot and make the clearance for St Eunan’s who will play either St Ronan’s Lurgan or St Malachy’s Castlewellan in the final.
St Eunan’s : Mark Bonner 1-2, Lorcan Harvey 1-1, Leon Blake-Boyce 1-0, Michael Doherty 0-1, Chris Diver 0-1, Brendan O’Hagan 0-1, Mandy Kelly 0-1, Josh Patton 0-1.
St Joseph’s : Cormac McCartan 2-2, Ronan Molloy 1-2, Con Sweeney 1-0.
