Down advance in EirGrid Ulster Under 20 championship
Down advanced to a quarter-final of the EirGrid Ulster Under 20 Championship as they overcame Antrim 1-16 to 0-11 at St Tiernach’s Park, Clones.
Down dominated from the opening whistle with Liam Kerr and Seamus Loughran proving particularly effective for the Mournemen.
They had a comfortable lead at the break leading Antrim 0-10 to 0-3 and they further stretched this after the break substitute Aaron Devlin finding the net for the game’s only goal.
There was a late surge from Antrim but they never threatened the end result.
Down advance to meet Tyrone in the quarter-final next Sunday in Healy Park.
