Down advance in EirGrid Ulster Under 20 championship

June 23rd, 2019

Down advanced to a quarter-final of the EirGrid Ulster Under 20 Championship as they overcame Antrim 1-16 to 0-11 at St Tiernach’s Park, Clones.

Down dominated from the opening whistle with Liam Kerr and Seamus Loughran proving particularly effective for the Mournemen.

They had a comfortable lead at the break leading Antrim 0-10 to 0-3 and they further stretched this after the break substitute Aaron Devlin finding the net for the game’s only goal.

There was a late surge from Antrim but they never threatened the end result.

Down advance to meet Tyrone in the quarter-final next Sunday in Healy Park.
