Slaughtneil made it seven Derry Senior Hurling Championships in a row following a win over Kevin Lynchs.

A powerful second period display proved decisive as Slaughtneil overcame the concession of two Kevin Lynch goals either side of half-time.

Mark Craig’s major ensured Kevin Lynch’s were level, 0-10 to 1-7 at the turnaround.

Tiarnan McHugh added a second Kevin Lynch’s goal, but with Cormac O’Doherty sharp from frees the holders were level with 10 minutes remaining, 0-16 to 2-10.

Brendan Rogers then pounced for a crucial goal and Slaughtneil concluded the game with a late flurry of points.

Ballycran retained the Down Senior Hurling Championship following a seven point victory over Portaferry.

Despite conceding an early goal, Ballycran responded to lead by 1-10 to 1-6 at the break.

Brendan Coleman grabbed a first minute goal for Portaferry, but Ballycran came thundering back.

Stuart Martin’s goal approaching the interval helped Ballycran move four points ahead.

After the restart Ballycran remained cool to earn a 26th Down crown.
