2022 Ulster GAA Hurling Provincial Indoor Blitzes now open for registration

The 2022 Ulster GAA Hurling Provincial Indoor Blitzes are now open for registration.

Ulster GAA will be running five Provincial Indoor Hurling Tournaments at the Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt from January to March:

Sat 15th January – U9

Sat 29th January – U10

Sat 12th February – U11

Sat 26th February – U12

Sat 12th March – U13

Please note the age grade is as of 1st January 2022.

All Blitzes start at 11:45am and finish sharp at 2pm

Only teams who have pre registered & prepaid (£20) will be able to participate, and the blitzes will be operated on a first come first served basis. Please note a Club can only enter one team to each age grade/Tournament.

Rules

• All games are 9 v 9, but if a team is only able to play 7 v 7 then match them.  If agreeable play 8 v 8, but no more than 9 v 9 to avoided congested games.
• The ball will be live at all times unless there is a score, with no line balls and no wide ball.
• Only goals count. Cannot score directly from a puc-out.
• All games are 7 minutes straight (depending on numbers and time).  Teams who delay their start time due of “team talks” only lose out on their own playing time.
• All games use the Quick/ Smart Touch Sliotar.
• Full hurling rules, except all frees conceded in your defensive end of the pitch result in a 20m penalty (1 v 1) against the fouling team. Note the defending goalkeeper must stay on their line for the penalties.
• No managers or subs allowed in the playing area during or before games, only players starting.
• No warm-ups on the pitch as games must start per time schedule.
• If players’ behaviour is not good, they must be replaced by another player or team will have to play with a player less.?
• If a teams’ behaviour is not good, they will forfeit all their remaining games.
