Bank of Ireland renews Dr McKenna Cup sponsorship

December 20th, 2021

Bank of Ireland and Ulster GAA are delighted to confirm the renewal of their Dr. McKenna Cup sponsorship deal for the 2022 campaign.

The renewed sponsorship deal will also see the Bank continue as a key Corporate Partner with a range of off-field, club-focused initiatives to recognise volunteers and support communities across the province.

Commenting on the announcement, Geraldine O’Hagan, Regional Branch Manager, Bank of Ireland UK, said:

“We’re delighted to see the return of the competition and to renew our sponsorship of the Dr. McKenna Cup. We look forward to seeing our partnership with Ulster GAA continue to go from strength to strength and to another exciting season of competition fixtures between the counties. We wish everyone taking part, the very best of luck – may the best team win!”

Oliver Galligan, Ulster GAA President added:

‘’Ulster GAA is delighted to retain Bank of Ireland as the main sponsor of our pre-season inter-county competition in 2022. We have enjoyed a long partnership with the Bank and I warmly welcome this new deal that supports Gaelic games at county and club level across the province.’’

‘’The return of the Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup, after last year’s pandemic-enforced absence, will provide our county teams the opportunity to get back to much needed competitive action ahead of their National League campaigns, and also give our supporters the chance to cheer on their teams after the winter break.’’

The draw for the 2022 Bank of Ireland McKenna Cup was attended by Tyrone GAA’s Kieran McGeary, All-Star Footballer of the Year, and All-Ireland winning joint-manager Feargal Logan.
