St Macartan’s finish on a high with victory over St Eunan’s
Yesterday’s Danske Bank MacRory Cup game in Garvaghey turned out to be quite an entertaining encounter, although first half goals from Dara McKenna and Cormac O’Hanlon put St.Macartan’s Monaghan in the ascendancy from an early stage.
Saint Eunan’s Letterkenny had goal opportunities of their own during the first half, but didn’t put them away and they trailed by 2-7 to 0-8 at the interval.
A goal from Noah Barrett in the third quarter closed the gap to a couple of points but despite the promptings of Gary Kelly, Donal Gallagher, Jamie McCauley and Barrett, they couldn’t close the gap. St Macartan’s had good performances from Jake McConnon, Gary Devlin, Bobby Walker, Sean Callen and the main scorers.
