Goals win games as PS Ghaoth Dobhair triumph 
Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair claimed the Danske Bank U14.5 Gerry Brown Cup yesterday afternoon at the Melvin Sports Complex, largely thanks to three second half goals against a talented Saint Aidan’s Cootehill side.
Cootehill got a good start against the breeze with Aries Metlovas pointing a free in the first minute. Brian Mac Pháidín equalised before Teaghan Coyle hit a cracking goal for the Donegal side in the eighth minute.
Within a few minutes however Finn Sherlock took on the Gaoth Dobhair defence and hit the net and that gave Cootehill the confidence to power ahead and lead by 1-4 to 1-3 at the break.
Given the strength of the breeze, Gaoth Dobhair looked in bother, but two goals and a point in the ten minutes after half time changed the game.
The first goal came when Cathal Mag Aoidh blasted a great shot to the net and Cathal Ó Gallachóir added a point before Seán Ó Gallachóir stepped up to net a second.
However the Gaoth Dobhair team rallied, stuck to their task and, when the opportunity arose, Mac Pháidín killed off the game with another goal.
