Get involved in the Ulster GAA Cúchulainn Initiative for 2023!
Ulster GAA is currently welcoming expressions of interest from 2nd Level schools across all sectors in the Province to be involved in the 2023 delivery of the Cúchulainn Initiative.
The initiative is a programme specifically focused on extending the hand of friendship to schools who would not normally associate with the GAA. This is achieved by inviting schools from different backgrounds within a town, to come together to form a Cúchulainn Team.
The project is open to boys and girls in Year 10/11 (NI) and 2nd Year/3rd Year (ROI) who do not play Gaelic Games, or who have not played at any higher age-level than under-12 level previously.
Ulster GAA coaches will be assigned to each Cúchulainn Team to provide Taster Sessions for each group. A maximumof40 pupils can be accommodated at the coaching sessions; with pupils being selected from this to go on and represent their town at the Cúchulainn Initiative Blitz. Prior to this members of Ulster GAA’s Community Development Department will be available to deliver a ‘Getting to Know the GAA’ talk in each school.
If you would like to become involved in the 2023 programme, please complete the expression of interest form here before Friday 28th October.
Please note that places are limited, and the initiative is open to eight towns only per year.
