Garda Síochána have issued the following information for supporters ahead of the Ulster Senior Football Championship Final at St. Tiernach’s Park, Clones this Sunday.
There will be a number of road closures in place in and around the town. All road closures will be in place from 11:30am until after the Senior match.
– Fermanagh Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
– Churchill to Millbrook (save for local access)
– River lane and Roslea Road will be restricted to match traffic only
Please note that no vehicles will be permitted to leave O’Neill Park for 40 minutes after the final whistle of the Senior game. This is to facilitate the safe passage of pedestrians from St. Tiernach’s Park.
We also request that HGVs if travelling tomorrow from Cavan to Monaghan or vice versa avoid the N54 and travel via Cootehill.
The town and surrounding roads will experience large volumes of traffic and anybody considering travelling through the town of Clones is advised to consider an alternative route to their destination.
Members of an Garda Síochána will be on hand to assist with traffic flow. Please if you are attending allow plenty of time for your journey so you can arrive in good time.
An Garda Síochána wish everyone attending tomorrow a safe and enjoyable day and we thank you for your cooperation and patience in advance.
Ulster GAA advises supporters from all counties to leave home in good time, allow extra time for their journey and to co-operate with external stewards and An Garda Síochána on traffic arrangements. Please also park responsibly respecting local land owners and property.
