Ulster GAA Games For All set for Croke Park
GAA Games for All continues to thrive and grow in Ulster with clubs broadening their horizons, aiming to provide an inclusive club environment “where we all belong”.
The first line of the GAA Official Guide spells out how the GAA reaches into every corner of Ireland and many communities around the globe. In doing this, the GAA is fully committed to the principles of inclusion and diversity at all levels.
This Monday, 5th August, a record number of clubs from Ulster will travel to Croke Park with their Games for All teams to take part in a fun-filled day of games and activities. This affords children, young adults and adults who are involved in the Games for All programme the opportunity to play on the hallowed turf of Croke Park, just like their GAA football, hurling, camogie and ladies’ football idols.
Ulster President, Ciaran McLaughlin said: “Monday will be a special day for all involved with 493 players, 252 coaches from 27 clubs registered to attend. This is a testament to the hard work going on in this area led by Ulster GAA’s Shane McCann and Paul Callaghan, and the many clubs now offering GAA Games for All.”
Ciaran concluded: “The participants will start their games at 1pm and everyone will have 45 minutes on the field. This is a very special day for Ulster GAA Games for ALL and one we are all really looking forward to.”
