Ulster GAA welcomes significant Government sports funding announcement
Ulster GAA has welcomed the news that clubs and counties in the province are set to benefit from the Community Sport Facilities fund after the Irish Government recently announced the largest-ever investment in sports facilities in communities across Ireland.
The funding highlights the exceptional work clubs in the province continue to do in their communities, and will have a significant impact on the development and growth of our games.
Among the awarded projects in Monaghan are €340k to floodlights at St Tiernachs GAC Clones, Donaghmoyne GFC’s development of a gym and changing rooms, and a sensory room and gym at Sean McDermotts GAA club.
In Donegal, Four Masters GAA club received €436k worth of funding for the development of an indoor multi-sport facility, while Burt, Glenfin, Aodh Ruadh and Termon are all among the clubs allocated grants.
Funding to projects in Cavan include infrastructure and facilities upgrades in GAA clubs such as Redhills, Shercock, Laragh United and Cootehill Celtic, while Cavan GAA’s redevelopment of a 3G artificial playing surface will also benefit from funding of just over €440k.
