Clubs in Ulster honoured with Club Maith Awards

December 17th, 2024

Three clubs in Ulster were recognised for their commitment to development when they received their Club Maith Award at a recent special presentation event held prior to the AIB Ulster Senior Football Club Final.

The awards, presented by Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin, celebrate the clubs’ accomplishments in attaining accreditation over the past 12 months.

The Club Maith Award highlights the quality and excellence of these clubs across five key areas of GAA operations: Governance, Community Engagement, Coaching & Games, Health and Wellbeing, and Safeguarding of Members.

The following clubs received awards:

  • Tempo Maguires (Fermanagh) – Platinum Award
  • St Patrick’s, Donagh (Fermanagh) – Gold Award
  • St Mary’s, Aghagallon (Antrim) – Bronze Award

Speaking at the event, Ciaran McLaughlin commented:

“This is a significant achievement for each of the clubs involved and is not only an endorsement of the high standards of governance in place but will also be of great importance for future club development.”

This year’s presentation marked the final Club Maith Awards, concluding a programme that has been instrumental in recognising and fostering excellence within GAA clubs in Ulster since 2007.

From January 2025, National GAA will introduce a new accreditation scheme designed to build upon the strong foundation established by Club Maith, supporting clubs in their continued journey towards sustainable growth and success.
