New Year focus on New Club Officers

December 17th, 2024

Ulster GAA in partnership with national GAA have launched their comprehensive schedule of role specific training for new Club Officers for January 2025.

As part of the Club Leadership Development Programme, 11 induction workshops are planned for the beginning of 2025, all online, to give new Club Officers an opportunity to learn about their new role and what issues to expect in 2025.  The workshops will be interactive, and participants are encouraged to engage on key areas for discussion.

Launching the 2025 Programme, Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin said: “Preparing our Club Officers for the year ahead is a crucial element of support for us to enable club volunteers to gain necessary knowledge and understanding around issues which will impact their roles in 2025.

“Our Officer Training Programme continues to be the flagship training and support for club officers in key roles including Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, PRO, Coaching Officer, Children’s Officer, Irish Language & Cultural Officer, Healthy Club Officers and Development Officers.  This year we are also delighted to offer training to all club volunteers on Health & Wellbeing and Diversity & Inclusion in the club.

“This training is aimed at volunteers new to their roles in 2025, however, everyone is welcome to attend, including those who wish to brush up on their knowledge and understanding of key issues clubs face on an annual basis.

“Our training continues to be offered online, so that as many people as possible can access these important information sessions, without having to leave their home. I encourage all clubs to ensure they have representation at these training workshops, registration is vital and all details can be found below.”
