Jack Henry Family & Friends Wheelchair Football Blitz in Omagh
Ulster GAA held its annual Jack Henry Family & Friends Memorial Wheelchair Football Blitz in Omagh on Saturday.
This event provides a unique opportunity for Ulster Wheelchair football players to team up with their families and friends to represent their clubs.
A total of eight teams participated in this year’s event; Kinawley, Moneymore, Castlederg, Clonoe, St Paul’s, Clan na Banna, Newbridge, and Galbally. Each team displayed great teamwork and enthusiasm, contributing to a day filled with competitive spirit and fun.
After a series of entertaining group-stage matches, the teams of Clan na Banna and Newbridge, as well as Castlederg and St Paul’s, advanced to the semi-finals. The final saw Newbridge face Castlederg in an exciting showdown. After a hard-fought match, Castlederg emerged victorious, securing the Jack Henry Cup with a final score of 3-05 to 2-05.
Jack’s parents Enya and Brendan and their family were in attendance to present the cup to the Castlederg team captain Connor Connolly .
