Ulster GAA and Na Dúnaibh delighted to host Cúrsa de Faoite once again

Ulster GAA is delighted to welcome visitors to Na Dúnaibh, County Donegal, next week for the 2025 Cúrsa de Faoite Irish Language Course.

The five-day course begins on Monday, 30th June, and promises a vibrant week of activities. Each day includes Irish language classes focused on the Ros Goill dialect, giving participants a unique opportunity to learn and deepen their understanding of the language. The programme also features a trip to Dunfanaghy and tour of the Workhouse, traditional music sessions and dancing.

There will also be a special concert with singers, musicians, storytellers & dancers from across county Donegal, before the week culminates with a celebratory meal.

Organisers in Na Dúnaibh are thrilled to host the course once again and hope it proves valuable for both new and advanced learners of Irish. It’s also a wonderful chance to celebrate our culture and promote the Irish language in a welcoming, community setting.

The course in named after Seamus De Faoite, a Donegal native who served as the first secretary of Ulster GAA Irish Language Committee, formed in 1989. He passed in 2006, but left behind a rich legacy of deep appreciation, promotion and learning of the Irish language and its heritage and culture. Today, the course imbues that legacy.
