The 21st annual O’Neills Ulster GAA Coaching and Games Development Conference took place at the Glenavon Hotel, Cookstown at the weekend.

This year’s theme focused on ‘Developing Club Football in the Modern Game’ and featured keynotes and workshops from some top-level coaches, and it was great to have such a large number of coaches from across the province and beyond attend this year’s event

Johnny Bradley, Programme Director MSc Sports Performance Analysis at SETU Carlow, delivered his keynote presentation on how data and analysis gathered during the past football season can inform coaches for the year ahead.

Dr Denise Martin, Researcher in Sports Performance Analysis, looked at maximising the impact of video feedback for GAA coaches, teams and players.

National GAA Coach and Player Development Manager Brendan Hackett delivered a presentation exploring how to incorporate mental skills into coaching practice.

In the final presentation of the day, attendees heard from Tyrone All Ireland winner and Errigal Ciaran manager Enda McGinley on using stats in club management.

Thanks once again to O’Neill’s for their sponsorship of the Ulster GAA Coaching and Games Development Conference.
