Ulster GAA host Chinese Consul General at Armagh
The Officers and staff of Ulster GAA were delighted to welcome Chinese Consul General in Belfast Madame Zhang Meifang, along with Consuls Mr Zhang Peng and Mr Zhao Shencheng to Ceannarás Uladh Armagh on Wednesday.
Madame Zhang and the Chinese delegation were taken through a presentation on the work of Ulster GAA across the province and the role of the GAA in local communities.
A welcome reception was also held in the Marketplace Theatre where the delegation enjoyed the entertainment provided by the Armagh Rhymers, All Ireland Scór na nÓg solo singing champion Aoife Trainor from Clonduff GAC and dancers from St Malachy’s Primary School, Armagh.
In welcoming the officials, President Oliver Galligan said:
“We were deeply honoured to host Consul General Madame Zhang and the representatives from the Chinese Consulate at our headquarters this afternoon.
“In recent seasons, we have had the pleasure of welcoming the previous Chinese Consul General and groups of Chinese students to some of our games. We look forward to Madame Zhang attending one of our Ulster Football Championship matches this summer.”
