Kilcoo claim Ulster Senior Club League title
Two goals from Cillian Laverty helped Kilcoo to the 2019 Ulster Senior Club Football League title at the weekend.
The Down men made the trip to Balliderry as the in-form team in this season’s competition and ran out impressive victors over the hosts.
Kilcoo were on top in the opening half, and led 1-10 to 1-5 at the break with a Laverty goal helping the Mickey Moran managed team to 1-5 to 0-2 lead midway through the half.
A Daniel McKinless goal helped keep Ballinderry in touch at the break and they did close the gap during the second half before Laverty’s second goal gave his side the breathing room they needed.
The Ulster Senior Club League trophy was presented by Ulster GAA Treasurer Michael Geoghegan to Kilcoo’s Conor Laverty and Aidan Branagan.
