Dún na nGall Club Championship Update

The league stages of the Michael Murphy Sports Donegal Senior and Intermediate Club Championships completed recently with eight teams from each grade qualifying for the quarter finals.

These eight games will be played over the weekend September 4th to September 6th and are as follows (first named team has home advantage):

Senior Championship

Naomh Conaill v Glenfin

Gaoth Dobhair v Sean MacCumhaill

St Eunans v Realt na Mara

Kilcar v St Michaels

Intermediate Championship

Naomh Columba v Malin

Buncrana v Fanad Gaels

Cloughaneely v Red Hughs

Aodh Ruadh v Naomh Muire

These quarter finals feature the top eight teams after four rounds of league games and the tables were as shown below.

The bottom four in each league table also play-off to stay in their respective championships – thus one of Ardara, Dungloe, Milford and Termon will drop from Senior to Intermediate championship. Similarly, Naomh Brid, Naomh Colmcille, Burt and Naomh Ultan will play-off to avoid the drop to Junior status.

The league stages to the Junior Championship continue for another week with the quarterfinals played over the second weekend of September.

In the Senior hurling championship there are still three games left to be played in the League stages. Setanta and Buncrana are already through to the semi-final stages. All three of the remaining games are scheduled for this weekend. Two Junior Hurling quarterfinals will be played this weekend with Aodh Ruadh playing St Eunans B and Setanta B playing Four Masters.
