Sport Uniting Communities programme launched for 2021
Ulster GAA, along with Irish FA and Ulster Rugby, are offering clubs the opportunity to be part of the Sport Uniting Communities programme for 2021.
Uniting Communities is a collaboration between Ulster GAA, Ulster Rugby and the Irish Football Association, using sport as a tool to promote peace and reconciliation. To start the programme, clubs are invited to join a series of online workshops focused on the following topics:
• Defining Roles and Responsibilities within Clubs
• Volunteer Recruitment and Retention (focusing on marginalised groups)
• Succession Planning for Volunteers
• Becoming an Inclusive Club
• Volunteer Leadership and Mentoring
Once the workshops are complete, clubs from all three sports are encouraged to work together in their local communities to deliver cross-community events which bring people from different backgrounds together using the unifying power of sport as well as engaging in various other workshops, conferences and webinars throughout the year including the Inclusive Clubs Programme, Good Relations Conference, Goldmark and the IFA Inclusive Clubs Programme.
Dates and times for the workshops are as follows:
Workshop 1: Tuesday 30th March, 7.00-8.30pm
Workshop 2: Tuesday 27th April, 7.00-8.30pm
Workshop 3: Tuesday 25th May, 7.00-8.30pm
