Ulster GAA continues to Invest in Volunteers

June 9th, 2024

Ulster GAA is proud to have once again achieved Investing in Volunteers status, the quality standard for good practice in volunteer management, administered through Volunteer Now.

Volunteer Now CEO Denise Hayward visited the headquarters of Ulster GAA on Volunteers Week to officially present the Investing in Volunteers award to Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin.

Speaking at the presentation, Ulster GAA President Ciaran McLaughlin commented;

 “The GAA in Ulster is extremely proud to be a volunteer-led organisation.  Our volunteers are involved in every aspect of our core work including policy and decision making, the promotion and delivery of our games and programmes, planning for the future, and governance and wellbeing”.

“Therefore, the Investing in Volunteers Standard is important for Ulster GAA as the Award keeps a strong focus on these volunteers, ensuring we maintain the high standards in our support to them.

“We are delighted to continue to work closely with Volunteer Now and strive for best practice in volunteer development.  Achieving this standard is testament to the hard work and commitment of our dedicated volunteers who make a real impact across our clubs, counties, Province, and country through their involvement in the GAA.

“I thank all Ulster GAA volunteers for their continued commitment to the Association and in particular, I thank all those who participated in this comprehensive assessment and renewal process.”

Denise Hayward CEO Volunteer Now said;

“Volunteer Now is delighted to present this Investing in Volunteers Award to Ulster GAA again.  It is a testament to their commitment to the volunteers who are the foundations of their organisation.  It demonstrates their commitment to excellence in involving people as volunteers and shows that Ulster GAA is a great place to volunteer!”
