The Club Planning Programme aims to provide GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs with a step-by-step approach to developing a strategic plan.

The programme features a Club Planning Guide, practical resources and trained Club Planning Facilitators to guide clubs through the process.

A strategic plan helps the club define its vision, mission, and goals. It ensures everyone, from committee members to coaches, players, and volunteers understands where the club is going and why.

With a strategic plan in place, decisions about funding, facilities, coaching, and events are aligned with the club’s long-term goals. It helps avoid short-term, reactive choices that may not serve the club’s future.

Clubs often have limited finances, volunteers, and facilities. A strategic plan helps prioritise resources, focusing on initiatives that deliver the most benefit to members and the community.

When members see a clear plan for growth and improvement, they are more likely to get involved and contribute. Volunteers and coaches feel valued and motivated because their efforts are aligned with a bigger purpose. A strategic plan is also a great way to increase your volunteer base.

Funding bodies, local authorities, and sponsors look for evidence of planning and vision before supporting a club. A strategic plan demonstrates that the club is professional, accountable, and forward-thinking.
